Greetings from Trivandrum. Interventional Cardiology has been growing by leaps and bounds in Kerala with the number of cathlabs more than 40 and the number of procedures growing steadily. In 2008, more than 10,000 coronary angioplasties were performed in Kerala.

The number of non-coronary intervention procedures also has gone-up significantly. We should be proud about the fact that Institutions in Kerala are the National toppers in performing ASD and PDA device closures.

The same team of office bearers are continuing for another year – 2009-2010. The new members’ directory was released during the Kochi meet. We are planning a membership drive and aim to reach a target of 150 members(from the current 132) by 2010. Please do encourage all your colleagues to join ICCK. Membership forms are available in the website.

The next annual meeting of ICCK will be conducted in Trivandrum with Dr. N Prathap Kumar as the organising secretary. The event on August 7th and 8th will be held at The Leela, Kovalam. Following the previous GB meeting decision, accommodations have to be arranged by the delegates themselves.

Please send the statistics of the interventional procedures (coronary and non-coronary) performed in your cathlabs to be compiled and presented in the annual meeting. The forms can be downloaded from the website. Please send the completed forms to the address given below.
